First Aid Training Course - First Aid at Work

Acorn's course is aimed at any member of staff who is required to become a qualified ‘First Aider’ in their workplace, such as civic buildings, offices, schools or leisure centres.

First Aid at Work

Course Objective Participants will develop the skills necessary to become a competent and confident First Aider in their work place and will be awarded a ‘FAAW’ certificate, valid for 3 years
Content
  • Recognition of illness/injury
  • Record keeping
  • Personal hygiene and infection control
  • Unconsciousness
  • Resuscitation
  • Management of choking casualty
  • Bleeding and shock
  • Major and minor illnesses
  • Fractures
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisoning and eye injuries

At the end of this course the participant will undertake a theory and practical assessment carried out by independent assessors. They will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the theoretical and practical aspects of unconsciousness, resuscitation and the control of bleeding.
Duration 3 days (training contact time – 18 hours)
