First Aid Training

We offer a comprehensive range of first aid, resuscitation and defibrillation
training courses. All of our courses are delivered by qualified tutors whom
themselves have many years experience and come from a variety of professional
backgrounds.
We are accredited to run courses by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE),
National Child Minding Association (NCMA) and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
The
emphasis on every course is to allow participants to become both competent and
confident in their practice through on-going assessment and practical hands on
training.

First Aid at work
First Aid at Work (4 days)
| Course Objective |
For
participants to develop the skills necessary to become a competent and confident
first aider in the work place |

| Aimed At | Any member of staff who is required to become a qualified first aider in the workplace |
| Content | Gaining knowledge and understanding of all aspects of first aid including recognition of illness/injury, record keeping, communication, personal hygiene and infection control, unconsciousness, resuscitation, choking, bleeding and shock, major and minor illnesses, fractures, burns and scalds, poisoning and eye injuries |

First Aid at work refresher
| Course Objective |
For
participants to update and refresh their skill as a first aider in the workplace. |

| Aimed At | Those who have previously attended and successfully
completed the 4 day first aid at work course. You must be in possession of a valid certificate which can be renewed up to three months prior to expiry. |
| Content | Recognition of illness/injury, record keeping, communication, personal hygiene and infection control, unconsciousness, resuscitation, choking, bleeding and shock, major and minor illnesses, fractures, burns and scalds, poisoning and eye injuries. |

Paedeatric (Child) First Aid
National Child Minding Association (NCMA)/Pre-School Learning Alliance (PSLA) Paediatric First Aid Course
| Course Objective |
To
equip participants with a comprehensive range of skills to enable them to
respond calmly and confidently in the event of a child becoming unwell or
injuring themselves. |

| Aimed At | Staff working with children who need to be qualified and meet the requirements of the NCMA/PSLA and or those with an interest in paediatric first aid. |
| Content | Choking, CPR, parental consent, asthma, fits and seizures, medication, contents of first aid kits, falls and potential fractures, diabetes, head injuries, meningitis, sickle cell anaemia, blood loss and shock, minor wounds and bleeding, rescue breathing. |
| Duration | 12 hours. |

Appointed Person First Aid
First Aid Appointed Person
| Course Objective |
To
develop a number of basic, general first aid skills leading to participants
being awarded an ‘appointed person certificate’ valid for three years |

First Aid Appointed Person (sport injuries)

To
develop a number of basic first aid skills leading to participants being awarded
an ‘appointed person certificate’ valid for three years |

| Content | Summoning help, accident reporting, resuscitation, choking, CPR, rescue breathing, blood loss, minor wounds and grazes, blisters, fractures, sprains and strains, spinal injuries, asthma and heart conditions. |
| Duration | 6 Hours |
First Aid Appointed Person (care)
| Course Objective |
To
develop a number of basic first aid skills leading to participants being awarded
an ‘appointed person certificate’ valid for three years. This course covers the
induction requirements of TOPPS and LDAF |

| Aimed At | Staff working in care sector environments such as those working with older people and adults with learning difficulties |
| Content | Summoning help, accident reporting, resuscitation, choking, CPR, rescue breathing, blood loss and shock, skin tears seizures, fainting, diabetes, stroke and falls. This course also focuses (where necessary) on adapting basic first aid techniques for wheelchair users and residents with impaired understanding |

First Aid Appointed Person (paediatric)

develop a number of basic first aid skills leading to participants being awarded
an ‘appointed person certificate’ valid for three years |

Expedition First Aid
Wilderness First Aid

participants to gain a qualification that meets that requirement of their

| Aimed At | Staff and members of the public who love the outdoors and have an interest in the practical application of first aid when an ambulance may not be around the next corner! |
| Content | Variable but including realistic practical scenarios using trained casualties, resuscitation, bleeding, unconsciousness and choking. Lots of hands on, improvisation and adaptations necessary for the outdoors |

Oxygen Therapy Training
Oxygen Administration

To
be able to competently and confidently administer Oxygen |
