Health and Safety Training Course - Asbestos Awareness

Acorn's course is aimed at owners, managers and employees of small to medium size businesses involved within the building trades.

Course Objective	Provide awareness of the harmful effects of asbestos on health Understand the legislation regarding exposure to asbestos fibres Recognise the type of common materials/equipment which may contain asbestos Gain the necessary information and instruction on what to do if asbestos is accidently discovered Provide an overview of how asbestos should be managed in buildings – from the building owners and the contractor’s perspective.
Content	The health effects To provide delegates with an awareness of the risks associated with exposure to asbestos and how they should manage this Identification of asbestos Key legislation – Duty to manage – Client & Contractors responsibility An overview of asbestos surveys & registers Discovering asbestos – procedure to follow Hygiene & PPE Disposal of waste
Evaluation of Learning	On completion of the course delegates will undertake a short written multi choice assessment.
