Fire training from Acorn Health and Safety supports employers in complying with their statutory duties and takes into consideration a number of regulations including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, which came into effect in October 2006.

Fire Awareness

To
be confident in the action to take in the event of a fire and fire prevention
practice |

| Aimed At | Although this particular course is designed with care staff in mind, it is appropriate for members of staff in all organisations and can easily be adapted. |
| Content | The action to be taken on discovering or suspecting a fire, action required on hearing the alarm, how to raise the alarm and the location of call points and alarm indicator panels, calling the fire brigade, the location and use of fire fighting equipment, knowledge of the escape routes, evacuation, safe working practice, fire prevention. |

Fire Emergency Planning and Evacuation Workshop
| Course Objective |
To
be confident in the creation and application of fire evacuation procedures. |

| Aimed At | Those working within the care sector (including NHS) where a clear understanding of fire evacuation procedures is essential. This course can also be adapted for other organisations where evacuation may be necessary. The course is prepared in accordance with Fire Authority guidelines. |
| Content | An interactive session designed to enable management and staff to develop a strategy for effective evacuation of a care establishment in the event of a suspected or real fire incident. |

Fire Marshal/Warden Training

Employees
who are designated as a Fire Warden will understand their role and their duties within the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997. |
