Parkinson’s Awareness Training – HEALTH17

Our Parkinson’s Awareness training course is aimed at staff working in a care setting with clients with Parkinson’s disease who require support. This 90 minute course enables staff to gain a greater understanding of treatment for Parkinson’s and participants will be able to identify what they can do to support someone living with Parkinson’s disease.

“I attended a First Aid at Work course this week and I want to let you know how fantastic the trainer was. I have never enjoyed a course so much and I was actually not looking forward to it as I had attended a previous first aid course some years ago (not with yourselves) and did not enjoy it. He delivered the training professionally and constantly kept people’s attention as he made it so interesting and kept everyone involved. I am going to miss attending the course tomorrow. He is an absolute credit to Acorn.”

  • What causes Parkinson’s disease
  • Understanding the main symptoms
  • Understanding the 5 stages
  • Understanding the different treatments
  • Understanding the term 'freezing'
  • Identifying what you can do to support someone living with Parkinson’s disease
