Our OFSTED and Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS) ‘Level 3 award in paediatric first aid’ course, accredited by Qualsafe Awards is attended to by hundreds of childcare providers every year. We run regular monthly courses on weekdays and weekends as well as our extended course for those seeking to gain their forest schools practitioner qualification or just looking for something a little different to challenge them! Many courses are run in situ within a variety of environments including schools and nurseries.

Our team of registered nurses teach a number of specialist courses including the administration of medicines to children, asthma, epilepsy and the administration of Buccal Midazolam.

From as little as £126 a month, our 'Hassle Free' retained consultancy service provides a bespoke health and safety solution specific to your needs and the needs of your organisation and most importantly the children in your care.
We also provide ad-hoc advice and consultancy on topics including medicines management and policy, manual handling, risk assessment and supporting children with complex handling needs. Our consultants have a robust understanding of current legislation, OFSTED and EYFS regulation and guidance.
By improving staff competence and confidence our advice, support and guidance will help you to provide an environment where risks are appropriately controlled and the children under your supervision thrive.
How do we keep children safe with practical health and safety training solutions?
We offer open and in-house courses that comply with Ofsted requirements and EYFS standards. We provide training in the following areas, all of which are relevant to the childcare sector:

For groups who have a suitable location we can deliver a 16-hour outdoor, first aid course which meets the requirements needed to gain the ‘Forest Schools Practitioner’ qualification along with the Level 3 Award in Paediatric first aid.
What should you expect from Acorn Health & Safety?
On consultancy projects, we will assign you a dedicated and competent health and safety professional who will gain an understanding of your needs and be on hand to provide any help, advice or comment you need.
Any documentation produced will either be uploaded to our cloud based storage system provided electronically, or as a hard copy in the required format. Following any piece of consultancy work we are available by phone or on e-mail, so you can contact us easily, if you need our assistance or further advice.
Our ‘in-house’ course programmes are the most cost effective option if you’ve a number of staff requiring training, and in many cases can be adapted to include reference to local policy, practice and documentation. These courses can be delivered either at any suitable venue or you can hire our purpose-built training centre located in Warmley, Bristol, whichever is best suited to your needs.
We also run a rolling programme of ‘open courses’ which are particularly suited for individuals, organisations that only have a few delegates or those looking to release small groups of staff at a time.
