Last week we delivered our first IOSH Working Safely course which replaces the previous, one day CIEH Level 2 award in Health and Safety in the Workplace. This one day course is aimed at workers from every type of workplace and covers health and safety basics in an easy to understand, interactive style.
Interestingly we had people from very different industries; construction, healthcare and a low-risk office based environment. This proves to us that this is an important course for any industry sector. The reasons for attending were just as varied even within the same sector;
- refreshing knowledge as had previously attended an IOSH course some years ago
- attending as part of an induction process in a new role
- attending for personal development to gain promotion
Customers may choose this course in order to ensure a good knowledge of basic health and safety requirements throughout the workforce.
Working safely is also an ideal induction course for newly appointed employees.
The course covers an introduction to health and safety, definitions of hazard and risk, identification of common hazards in the workplace, and improving safety performance, delivered by IOSH approved instructors with experience of many different fields of work.
Acorn Health & Safety offer this course regularly at our training facility in Warmley Bristol, and can also deliver the course at a customer’s premises.
Course delegates are provided with a workbook to keep in which they can make notes relevant to the course content and their workplace, and will have the opportunity throughout to ask questions specific to their workplace.
