Here at Acorn Health & Safety we offer a very large variety of Open Courses and are often adding to our varied portfolio. We have 48 courses still available to book until the end of year and our 2020 dates will be out soon.
We hold our open courses at our specialist training centre in Warmley, conveniently located between Bristol and Bath just moments from the A4174 ring road.
Open courses are mainly aimed at businesses and individuals requiring specific training or those with only a few members of staff to train. Our Open (Public) courses run regularly throughout the year and cover a variety of different subjects including:
- First Aid
- Food Safety
- Fire Safety (with use of live fire)
- Health & Safety (including Risk assessments, IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height)
- Manual Handling (of loads or clients and train the trainer)
- Administration of Medication (to adults, to children and Epilepsy)
We also regularly run an Infant and Child resuscitation course. This course takes just 2 hours to complete and is open to anyone interested in learning these valuable and potentially lifesaving skills.
We have 2 air-conditioned training rooms holding up to 15 delegates each and all training includes unlimited self-service Tea/Coffee.
One of our training rooms is our dedicated Manual Handling of Clients training room which includes the use of an overhead hoist, various other portable hoists with slings, 2 profiling beds and various stand aids. Our accredited professional trainers, many of which are registered nurses, provide practical lifesaving experience that can be used in the street, at work, or in a healthcare environment.
On an Acorn accredited course, upon completion of the course, the delegates leave that day with their certificate. For Awarding body accredited courses, the certificates are posted to delegates following the awarding bodies quality assurance checks.
