Training Focus: Fire Safety Courses by Acorn Health & Safety
Acorn Health and Safety Ltd Fire Safety training are relevant to all employers who must provide adequate fire safety training for employees. The type and extent of training should be based on the nature of an employers’ business, the type of premises and its’ use, and the expected occupancy of the building. We will always try to tailor our courses to include detail relevant to the delegate’s place(s) of work.
Our Fire Training courses will assist an organisation’s responsible person to carry out their duties and who must, where necessary:
- Take measures for fire-fighting in their premises, adapted to the nature of the activities carried out there and the size of the undertaking and of the premises concerned;
- Nominate competent persons (Fire Marshals) to implement those measures and ensure that the number of such persons, their training and the equipment available to them is adequate, taking into account the size of (and the specific hazards involved in) the premises concerned, and;
- Arrange any necessary contacts with external emergency services, particularly as regards to fire-fighting, rescue work, first-aid and emergency medical care.
Our courses can cater for employees who require Fire Awareness training, or who have the need for Fire Marshal training, and can include the practical use of fire extinguishers and the demonstration of the use of Fire Extinguishers and Fire blankets in a ‘live fire’ situation.
Courses will provide knowledge of legal requirements, risk assessments and hazards associated with fire, together with the causes and chemistry of fire and evacuation requirements. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss issues specific to their workplace throughout the course they are attending.
