Why do our customers choose us?
We recognise that e-learning is a cost-effective training method and is becoming an increasingly important part of many organisations training and development activities which is why we now offer a selection of e-learning courses to complement the classroom-based learning we offer on our open courses.
We have consciously chosen a provider whose courses all have external accreditation by nationally recognised organisations, such as the FPA, LCA, ROSPA, and IATP and we like the fact that the training is presented using a blended approach.
Current legislation set out by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 along with the HSE’s updated code of practice known as L8 which was published in 2001, states that Companies and building owners have a legal duty to manage Legionella.
How do we approach e-learning legionella management training?
E-learning can complement face to face training. For example, a traded business may opt for a face-to-face legionella training session initially and then refresh those skills in year two by using an E-learning training course.
This course explains the background to legionella, the potential risks associated with water systems and how these can be prevented or controlled. It helps you to understand the risk that legionella poses and helps you develop the systems and working practices you need to stay ahead. It gives you enough knowledge to get a legionella control programme off the ground yourself – or make confident, informed choices when commissioning others to take this on for you.
This course has 6 modules in total and each module concludes with some relevant questions. The pass rate for these questions is 70% and the 6 modules covered are:
- What is legionella?
- Risk areas
- Risk management
- Water system monitoring
- Cooling system awareness
Duration: 75 minutes.
