Bespoke First Aid Training – FA05 / FA11
Our Bespoke First Aid training is just that. A bespoke course aimed at those organisations where a first aid needs assessment indicates a lower risk environment or where a course is needed to compliment other first aid provision.
“I just wanted to thank you for arranging the Administration of Medicines to Adults in Care training for us: it was excellent quality and the trainer, Sarah, engaged all team members really well. The staff were actively participating and all seemed to really benefit from the day.”
Why do our customers choose us?
Our bespoke course programmes are popular in schools and businesses where staff members are seeking to learn additional skills and knowledge to those included on our standard course programmes.
Our courses are delivered by knowledgeable and enthusiastic trainers all of whom hold adult teaching qualifications supported by professional qualifications.
They have gained their hands-on first aid experience from a variety of different backgrounds over many years including nursing, armed forces, emergency services, hospitality, Voluntary Aid Societies, as well as other industry sectors before becoming qualified instructors.
Teaching 18,000 delegates a year, Acorn Health & Safety offer training to individuals, groups and entire staff teams. We are committed to providing excellent training delivered in a relaxed, yet informative style.
How do we approach bespoke first aid training?
A bespoke first aid course can be tailored to a customer’s requirements. We recognise that the first aid needs of different businesses and organisations can vary. We are able to provide flexible programmes designed to meet the needs of individual learners and we will provide exactly what is requested by the client.
Our course programme employs a variety of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates, we tend always include or refresh the following, with the rest of the content being entirely down to you:
- The unconscious casualty
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the safe use of a defibrillator
- Management of a choking casualty
- External bleeding and shock
- Catastrophic bleeding and the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings
Owing to the practical nature of this course a basic level of general fitness is required. Delegates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline. Should you have any questions relating to the accessibility of this course please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
This course is of between 3 - 6 hours duration depending on your requirements.

We can provide a wide variety of accredited or tailor-made courses, these can be ‘in-house’ or ‘open’ programmes.
Our ‘in-house’ course programmes are the most cost effective option if you’ve a number of staff requiring training, and in many cases can be adapted to include reference to local policy, practice and documentation. These courses can be delivered either at any suitable venue or you can hire our purpose-built training centre located in Warmley, Bristol, whichever is best suited to your needs.
We also run a rolling programme of ‘open courses’ which are particularly suited for individuals, organisations that only have a few delegates or those looking to release small groups of staff at a time.
Please contact us to discuss all of your training needs so we can advise the most suitable and cost effective solution.
