With AED’s becoming every popular in the workplace, schools and community settings, this course is aimed at anyone working or volunteering in an environment where and AED is available for use. In workplaces AED’s are not mandatory, however may be provided as part of a first aid needs assessment.
Our courses are delivered by knowledgeable and enthusiastic trainers all of whom hold adult teaching qualifications supported by professional qualifications.
They have gained their hands-on basic life support and defibrillator experience from a variety of different backgrounds over many years including nursing, armed forces, emergency services, Voluntary Aid Societies, as well as other industry sectors before becoming qualified instructors.

How do we approach AED trainer training?
Our course programme employs a variety of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates and includes the following:
- Confirmation of current basic life support knowledge and practical skills
- Current legal guidelines on the use of defibrillators
- Introduction to AED’s
- Defibrillation using an AED
- Safety measures
- Instructional techniques for including AED’s within training courses
- Final theory and practical assessments
Trainers employ a wide range of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates attending courses.
Owing to the practical nature of this course a basic level of general fitness is required. Delegates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline. Should you have any questions relating to the accessibility of this course please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
This course is of 6 hours (one day) duration.
What should you expect from Acorn Health & Safety?
We’ll provide delegates with a variety of printed course materials including workbooks and handouts. On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a printed course certificate.
Post course our team of consultants and trainers are available to answer any questions you might have. You’ll also receive an automatic reminder prior to course expiry.
