In the UK, there are 168 NHS hospitals managed by acute trusts and Hospitals are one of the largest employment sectors in the UK.

A Hospital is a health care institution providing patient patient treatment with specialized medical and nursing staff and medical equipment and have a range of departments and specialist units.

They include a wide range of roles, with different skills required and varying levels of demand and can be one of the most demanding industries. The range of different working environments available to hospital staff does enable you to work anywhere in the country but it does mean potentially stressful and unsociable hours.

In order to enter the industry, being qualified and prepared for the job is essential. Those looking to enter or work within the industry must ensure they are prepared for the high level of commitment that care work entails.  This includes providing staff members with the necessary information instruction and training to ensure that not only those they support, but also those doing the supporting are kept safe.

Our Manual Handling Foundation and updates courses are aligned to The Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) and are delivered using an evidence based approach, supported by reference to relevant regulatory requirements.  This includes the Care Quality Commission (CQC), The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and Resuscitation Council (UK).

The CSTF Framework can be used by any healthcare employer in the UK. Used by NHS and independent healthcare providers, bank staff and agency organisations, it gives confidence that training standards have been met and standardises the interpretation of statutory/mandatory or clinical/care training. It can improve the quality and consistency of training provision and is applicable across all four UK countries.
