NHS hospital records rap song about hand

washing

Bosses at Milton Keynes Hospital, Bucks, have come up with the ‘Clean Hands Rap’ to help doctors and nurses learn proper hand washing technique.

The song – which includes the lyrics ”Now to clean between your fingers, Just in case the bad bug lingers” – also has its own video with nurses dressed  in ‘hip hop’ style clothing.

In the 30-second clip, five members of staff can be seen wearing back-to-front baseball caps and ‘bling’ while they stomp and clap in time to the beat.

Nurse Jenny Brooks, who is in charge of infection prevention and control at Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust, believes the video is an effective training tool.

She said: ”We’re all aware of the importance of hand hygiene, but this is a new way of reinforcing the message and reminding people that it’s not how often, but how well you clean your hands.
